Thailand’s major retailers among first to adopt data sync with local and global suppliers

GS1 Thailand Expands Global Data Sync Program with SA2 Worldsync

Cologne, Germany – August 17, 2010 – SA2 Worldsync today announced it was chosen by GS1 Thailand as the exclusive partner to provide global data synchronization (GDS) services to retailers and suppliers throughout the country. GS1 Thailand will launch the new service this month. Under the agreement, SA2 Worldsync is the preferred data pool and GDS management services provider for retailers, suppliers, distributors and manufactures.

According to SA2 Worldsync Chief Executive Officer Nihat Arkan, “By launching and promoting GDS country-wide, GS1 Thailand is helping businesses improve and streamline operations, which ultimately leads to improved customer satisfaction and service levels. Many large, multi-national retailers that serve Thailand already trade via GDS in other parts of the world. This new program will help these and other retailers in Thailand share data with suppliers in the most efficient way possible – through automated, standards-based trade. SA2 Worldsync is a leading advocate of GDS throughout Asia, and we’re pleased to see its penetration continue to increase across the continent. We look forward to working with GS1 Thailand and its participating businesses.”

“Retailers new to the Global Data Synchronization Network will quickly realize benefits, as they explore new ways to reduce errors, improve store in-stock levels and automate time-consuming, manual processes,” said GS1 Thailand Chief Executive Officer Pitchya Vajarodaya.“ In this prospect GS1 Thailand is also planning to launch retailer-specific on-boarding programs. Thailand is one of the fastest growing world economies and a move to GDS will ensure our growth remains more productive and profitable for all.”
