Pilot program success leads to full-scale rollout over next few months
GS1 Czech Republic choose SA2 Worldsync as partner for GDS Rollout
Prague, Czech Republic, Cologne, Germany, July, 27, 2010 – After a successful country-wide global data synchronization (GDS) pilot that began in autumn 2009, GS1 Czech Republic chose SA2 Worldsync as its exclusive technology provider for the formal launch and long-term management and deployment of GDS services country-wide. GS1 Czech Republic’s decision demonstrates the organization’s strategy to help companies in the Czech Republic improve their operations through enabling technologies based on global GS1 standards. For SA2 Worldsync, this is a further country-wide deployment in Central and Eastern Europe and increases the company’s leading market share in the region.
For the first phase of the rollout, which begins in the next few months, GS1 Czech Republic will connect more local fast-moving-consumer-goods (FMCG) companies. Currently connected multinational companies are already receiving item data from their global partners through the data pool.
The rollout will include support services, such as consulting, training and product data quality assurance. To encourage adoption, GS1 Czech Republic will host introductory seminars and more advanced workshops on GS1 standards and the Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN).
Pavla Cihlářová, CEO of GS1 Czech Republic comments: "During the pilot, suppliers and retailers realized many tangible benefits from this collaborative GDS deployment. Thanks to SA2 Worldsync’s well-established connections with other GDS data pools worldwide, we will be able to connect our Czech user companies smoothly and seamlessly – not only within the region but with businesses worldwide. "
“Many of the top retailers in the Czech Republic already use SA2 Worldsync item sync solutions in other countries," says Nihat Arkan, CEO of SA2 Worldsync. "Our support of GS1 Czech Republic firmly supports our commitment to extend GS1standards in GDS adoption activities worldwide. We are pleased to see that more and more user companies are benefitting from the fast-growing global reach of SA2 Worldsync via GS1 partner organizations."
