Food / Non-Food Release 6.0 planned for June 28, 2012

SA2 Worldsync operates two data pools today: WS1 and WS2. WS1 is based on the SINFOS standard and mainly operates in Germany, Austria, Denmark and Finland. WS2 is a GDSN data pool and is embedded in the worldwide network of 28 active data pools with almost 20.000 connected companies. Based on the global GS1 standards, WS2 offers retail and industry all features of the GDSN worldwide.

Our medium term objective is the transition of the WS1 data and customers to WS2, and the sunset of the WS1 data pool. To make the transition as smooth and easy as possible, the WS1 data pool is step by step being harmonized with GDSN. For this, the GDSN mandatories were already added as optionals to the WS1 country profiles with release FnF 5.2 in June 2010. With the release FnF 5.4 in November 2011 SA2 implemented warnings for these attributes: if they are not captured, a warning in the protocol will point that out. With the next major release, these attributes become mandatory information and must be populated - thus, the items become GDSN compliant.

We herewith announce the next major release Food/Non-Food 6.0 for June 28, 2012.
